  • Casto completes Sawmill Square redevelopment

    Columbus, Ohio — Casto has completed the redevelopment of Sawmill Square shopping center in the Dublin/NW Columbus area of Central Ohio. The redevelopment included the opening of a new Wal-Mart Supercenter.

    The center has also added a McAlister’s Deli, the first in Central Ohio. McAlister will join other new tenants, Sally Beauty and GameStop, as well as the existing line-up of retailers including Z Salon, The UPS Store, Thai Orchid, Huntington Bank, Skyline Chili, Burger King, Goodyear and PNC.


     

     

  • Brooks Brothers names designer Zac Posen as women’s creative director

    New York - Brooks Brothers has named designer Zac Posen as creative director for its signature women's collection and accessories. In this new role, Posen will direct the current Brooks Brothers design and merchant teams and will be responsible for the women's collection and affect a variety of areas including brand development and presentation for the women's label.

    Posen's first women's collection for Brooks Brothers will debut in spring 2016 and will be available worldwide. Posen launched his eponymous collection in 2001.

  • Annie’s adds former Kimberly-Clark exec to board

    Annie's, a natural and organic food company, has added Robert W. Black, a senior adviser to the Boston Consulting Group and former group president of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, to its board of directors. Black will serve as chairman of the Annie's nominating/corporate governance committee.

  • Chico’s names new CFO

    Fort Myers, Fla. -- Chico's FAS announced that it has appointed Todd E. Vogensen as senior VP, CFO, replacing Pamela Knous, who has left the organization to pursue other interests.

    Prior to his appointment as CFO, Vogensen had been the Chico’s senior VP finance. He has served Chico's in numerous roles over the past five years. Previously, Vogensen held multiple positions of increasing scope and responsibility with Michaels Stores.

  • dd’s Discounts to open in Hallandale, Fla.

    Dublin, Calif. — dd’s Discounts, a division of Ross Stores, will open its 23rd new store in Florida on June 28 in the Hallandale Shopping Center in Hallandale Beach, Florida. When this store opens, dd’s Discounts will operate more than 140 locations in 12 states. The retailer is on schedule to complete its expansion plan to open approximately 20 locations in 2014.

  • Chico's FAS taps new SVP, CFO

    Chico's FAS has appointed Todd E. Vogensen as SVP, CFO, replacing Pamela Knous, who has left the company.

    Prior to his appointment as CFO, Vogensen had been the company's SVP of finance. He will report to Kent Kleeberger, who himself filled the CFO spot from 2008 to 2011 and is currently EVP, COO.

  • Stego embarks on carbon footprint project

    Chicago -- Stego Industries, a provider of in below-slab moisture vapor protection, has launched an ambitious new company-level initiative to eliminate the carbon emissions of its business operations.

    The initiative, Stego’s Carbon Footprint Project, took another step toward this goal at the American Association of Architects (AIA) National Convention in Chicago last week by purchasing carbon offsets for all of the company’s air travel in 2013 — some 115 metric tons — through the TerraPass Carbon Balanced Business Program.
