  • Panera Bread on hunt for new CFO

    St. Louis -- Panera Bread Company announced that Roger Matthews, executive VP and CFO, has resigned his position to pursue other opportunities.

    Effective Aug. 6, Bill Moreton, executive vice chairman of Panera Bread, will serve as interim CFO as the company conducts a search for a full-time replacement. Moreton has previously held the positions of CEO, co-chief executive officer and CFO of Panera Bread. Matthews will transition his remaining duties through the end of August.

    If you’ve ever wished you could have bacon on the go, then the Oscar Mayer Institute for the Advancement of Bacon (OMIFAB) has some good news for you.

    Oscar Mayer has unveiled Bacon Jerky, available in two flavors — Bourbon Barbecue and Teriyaki Ginger — and packaged in an on-the-go bacon jerky pouch.

  • Walgreens names Krafts Foods exec as CFO

    Deerfield, Ill. — Walgreens on Monday named Timothy McLevish as Walgreens executive VP and CFO, effective immediately. He will lead all of Walgreens' finance functions as the company prepares to move forward with the proposed second step of its strategic partnership with Alliance Boots.
     

  • Facebook, RB partner for direct-to-consumer sales

    Parsippany, N.J. - Facebook and RB, a provider of health and hygiene products, have entered into a multi-year, nine-figure global partnership. The two companies have committed to integrating members of their global sales, marketing and creative teams to connect RB brands like Lysol, Mucinex, MegaRed and Air Wick with consumers on Facebook.

  • REI names VP of communications, public affairs

    Seattle -- REI named Alex Thompson as the company's new VP of communications and public affairs.  

    Thompson most recently served as executive VP of corporate and public affairs in the New York office of Edelman, a global communications and marketing firm.

    At REI, Thompson will direct a broad portfolio that includes public relations, reputation management, corporate communications, philanthropy, community affairs and government relations. In addition, he will be actively involved with the co-op's board of directors.

  • Epson and Mobivity in partnership to transform POS receipts

    New York -- Epson, a leading supplier of value-added point-of-sale (POS) solutions, and Mobivity Holdings Corp., a provider of retail customer engagement and marketing technologies, have entered into a partnership to transform receipts from transactional to actionable.
     

  • Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO joins Jack in the Box board

    Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO Sharon John will be joining Jack in the Box’s board of directors, effective September 18.

    John has more than 25 years of retail marketing, branding and executive management experience in the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Build-A-Bear Workshop in 2013, she served three years as president of the Stride Rite Children’s Group, a footwear division of Wolverine Worldwide with more than 300 stores in the U.S. and abroad.

  • P.S. From Aeropostale launches brand in Mexico, 100 stores on tap

    New York -- Aeropostale, Inc. will roll out its P.S. from Aeropostale brand in Mexico through a licensing partnership with Distribuidora Liverpool, S.A. de C.V.  

    P.S. from Aeropostale's expansion plans in Mexico include the opening of branded in-store shops in Liverpool department stores, as well as standalone stores, across Mexico beginning in summer 2014. The first store opened in July at Sante Fe Mall in Mexico City.
