  • Coldwater Creek shuffles executives

    SANDPOINT, Idaho – Coldwater Creek has named a new president and chief merchandising officer.

    Jill Brown Dean will replace Georgia Shonk Simmons, who announced her intention to retire.

    Dean, who most recently served as president of Limited Too's tween brands division, will join the apparel brand on Feb. 14.

    In related news, Jerome Jessup, currently EVP, creative director at the brand, was promoted to president and chief creative officer.

  • NAI Global names senior exec

    Princeton, N.J. -- NAI Global said it has named Art Carll as senior VP for the commercial real estate firm.

    Carll previously served as the executive managing director of NAI Las Vegas and regional manager for the Western Region for NAI Global.

    Carll will be focused on business development and service delivery with NAI Global’s Special Asset Solutions and Corporate Solutions groups in the West, as well as supporting NAI members throughout the Western region.

  • Coldwater Creek names president and chief merchandising officer

    Sandpoint, Idaho -- Coldwater Creek announced that Jill Brown Dean has been appointed president and chief merchandising officer, effective Feb. 14. She succeeds Georgia Shonk Simmons who previously announced her intention to retire.

    Dean joins Coldwater Creek with over 25 years of retail and merchandising experience in the specialty retail sector. She most recently served as president of the Limited Too division of Tween Brands.

  • Fisher to lead Canadian effort

    The challenge of spearheading Target’s entry into Canada will be handled by Tony Fisher. He was named president of Target Canada last week in a brief press release that offered little detail on his background or qualifications to lead the company’s efforts to open between 100 and 150 stores beginning in 2013.   • Grubb & Ellis appoints senior exec

    San Jose, Calif. -- Grubb & Ellis Co. announced that Robert Cook has joined the company as senior VP corporate services, based in the company’s San Jose office. 

  • Merlo set to take reins of CVS on March 1

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Caremark said Larry Merlo will succeed Thomas M. Ryan as CEO on March 1 as part of its previously announced succession strategy.

    The company had announced in May that Merlo would take the position as Ryan approaches retirement. Merlo is currently the president and COO.

    Ryan will remain chairman of the board until he retires in May, at which point David Dorman will take that position. Dorman has been a director since 2006.

  • Merlo to assume CEO role at CVS Caremark

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. – The next chapter for CVS Caremark officially is under way as the company announced on Monday the next stage of its previously announced transition plan and officially named Larry Merlo, president and COO, as CEO, effective March. 1.

    Tom Ryan, chairman, president and CEO, will remain nonexecutive chairman until his retirement at the company’s annual meeting of shareholders in May.

  • Boynton Beach Mall gets new GM

    Boynton Beach, Fla. -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group said that Darren Shepherd has been named general manager of its Boynton Beach Mall property.

    In his new position, Shepherd will be responsible for overseeing operations, customer relations, retail development and security for the mall.
