  • Improving housing market helps drive spending in June

    NEW YORK — The Deloitte Consumer Spending Index continues to rise, thanks to improvements in the housing market.

  • Deloitte Consumer Spending Index posts fourth monthly gain

    New York -- The Deloitte Consumer Spending Index (Index) posted its fourth consecutive increase in June, rising to 3.22 from a reading of 3.09 the previous month. The Index, which tracks consumer cash flow as an indicator of future consumer spending, is comprised of four components: tax burden, initial unemployment claims, real wages and real home prices.

  • Fujifilm names new U.S. executives

    VALHALLA, N.Y. — Fujifilm Holdings America Corporation announced that, effective June 28, Kaz Yamamura has been named as the new president of Fujifilm Holdings America Corporation; and Go Miyazaki has been promoted to president and COO of Fujifilm North America Corporation.

    In his new role, Yamamura will also serve as the new chairman and CEO of Fujifilm North America Corp., overseeing management of eleven Fujifilm companies that operate in the United States. He is also a member of the board of directors and corporate VP Fujifilm Corp.

  • Ralph Lauren CFO resigns

    New York -- Ralph Lauren Corp. said CFO Tracey Travis has resigned to pursue other interests.

    Robert Madore, senior VP finance, will assume the role on an interim basis, effective July 30, the company said in a regulatory filing.
     

  • Stater Bros. promotes Harris to CFO

    SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Markets has promoted David Harris to the position of SVP finance, CFO and principal accounting officer of Stater Bros. Markets, effective June 18.  

  • Income up, sales flat at Mattel

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — For the second quarter, Mattel reported net income of $96.2 million, or 28 cents per share, compared with last year’s second quarter net income of $80.5 million, or 23 cents per share.

  • Stater Bros. names CFO

    San Bernardino, Calif. -- Grocery chain Stater Bros. Markets said Tuesday it has promoted David Harris to the position of senior VP finance, CFO and principal accounting officer.

    Harris joined Stater Bros. in 2009 as VP finance. In June 2011, he was promoted to his most recent position of senior VP finance.

    Harris reports to Jack H. Brown, chairman and CEO.
