  • eBay profit up 5.6%, revenue surges 13%

    San Jose, Calif. -- EBay Inc. on Wednesday reported that its second quarter earnings rose 5.6%, topping analysts' expectations.

    The company posted $676 million in net income, up from $640 million in the same quarter a year ago.

    Revenue rose 13% to $4.37 billion from $3.88 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
     

     

  • Ross Dress for Less opens Pennsylvania, New Jersey stores July 19

    Dublin, Calif. – Ross Dress for Less will open two new stores in the Mid-Atlantic region on July 19. The stores opening are in the MacDade Mall in Glenolden, Pennsylvania and Windsor Heights Shopping Center in East Windsor, New Jersey.

    These new openings are part of the retailer’s 2014 expansion program, totaling approximately 75 new locations during the year.

     

  • DDR opens center in New Hampshire Aug. 12

    Beachwood, Ohio - DDR Corp. will hold the grand opening of Seabrook Commons, the company’s most recent ground-up development project located in Seabrook, New Hampshire, on Aug. 12. This 380,000-sq.-ft. prime power center is 96% leased, anchored by Wal-Mart, Dick's Sporting Goods, PetSmart, Michaels, Ulta, Famous Footwear and Five Below, and features a complementary restaurant lineup that includes Panera, Outback Steakhouse and Noodles & Company.

  • Belk to make Juban Crossing debut this summer

    Denham Springs, La. — Belk will open a 75,000-sq.-ft. store in Denham Springs, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge, that will become the first department store anchor at the regional lifestyle center at Juban Crossing. The grand opening is slated for October 15.

    The new, $7-million store will feature the latest retail design and décor for the Charlotte, North Carolina chain.

  • Simon breaks ground on Chicago Premium Outlets expansion

    Aurora, Ill. — Simon has launched construction of its expansion of Chicago Premium Outlets, adding 50 new stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, and including a comprehensive renovation of the Chicagoland center.

  • Cybersecurity company IID taps former Tripwire exec as VP, sales

    IID, a cybersecurity company that provides the platform to easily exchange cyber threat intelligence between enterprises and governments, has expanded its executive team with the addition of Bob Dunne as VP of sales.

    Dunne will oversee IID's global sales team, which is focused on helping support the growing demand for its platform to exchange cyber threat intelligence, ActiveTrust.

  • Corner Bakery Café to enter Oregon

    Dallas -- Corner Bakery Café announced its entry into Oregon, with the addition of franchise partner NW Ventures. As the operator of more than 138 Burger King franchises in Oregon and Mexico, as well as two TGI Fridays in Mexico, NW Ventures joins Corner Bakery Cafe as its 32nd franchise partner, with plans to open 12 neighborhood cafes in the state of Oregon and Vancouver, Washington.

  • Retail real estate leader Simon taps new premium outlets chief

    Simon, a global leader in retail real estate, has appointed retail and real estate executive Stephen Yalof as CEO of premium outlets and senior EVP of Simon.

    Yalof has served as SVP of real estate for Ralph Lauren Corporation since 2002. His 15 years of experience within the retail industry also includes his role as senior director of real estate for Gap. Yalof began his career in real estate under the leadership of Arnold Labich at New Plan Realty Trust, and became VP of leasing for their factory outlet business.
