  • Lowe's names president of Mexico division

    MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lowe’s has named José Luis Pier Castelló as president/general director of Lowe’s Mexico, effective March 15. He replaces Francisco Fernandez, who has left the company. Pier Castelló will report to William Robinson, head of international operations and development.

  • rue21 names chief administrative officer

    Warrendale, Pa. -- rue21 announced that Stacy B. Siegal, the company's current VP, general counsel and corporate secretary, has been promoted to the additional position of chief administrative officer.

    Siegal has served as the company's general counsel and corporate secretary since March 2010. In her expanded role, she will assume responsibility for human resources division while also retaining oversight of the company's legal matters, regulatory compliance and corporate communications.

     

  • Wal-Mart launches online site of goods make by small, women-owned businesses

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores on Thursday launched a new section on its website dedicated to products from small, women-owned businesses around the world.  

    More than 200 items from 19 businesses in nine countries are featured in the new "Empowering Women Together" section of Walmart.com. The launch comes a day before International Women's Day.

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart has launched an online destination on Walmart.com that gives shoppers who want to buy unique and interesting products the opportunity to do so while supporting small women-owned businesses around the world. At launch, Empowering Women Together will offer shoppers more than 200 items from 19 businesses in nine countries.

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Trademark Property announced that it has unveiled a new logo, corporate office and website as part of its 20-year anniversary.

    On Feb. 4, the company moved into a new corporate office located in the River Plaza office building, part of Trademark’s WestBend mixed-use development in Fort Worth.  In addition, a new, more digital- friendly logo is being introduced along with new website to better reflect Trademark’s ever-changing and dynamic business.

  • Obama names Walmart Foundation president to budget post

    Washington, D.C. -- According to published reports, President Obama will nominate Walmart Foundation president Sylvia Mathews Burwell as director of the Office of Management and Budget.
