    NEW YORK — The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Michael O’Hare as the company’s EVP, global human resources. O’Hare will report jointly to executive chair William P. Lauder and president and CEO Fabrizio Freda.

  • QVC gets jolt from former Starbucks exec

    WEST CHESTER, Pa. — QVC, a global video and e-commerce retailer, has appointed former Starbucks executive Mustafa El-Rafey as the company’s SVP of talent management and rewards. El-Rafey will lead the development and implementation of a dynamic talent management and rewards strategy for QVC.

    He will report to EVP of human resources and workplace services Beth Rubino.

  • QVC names El-Rafey senior VP talent management

    West Chester, Pa. -- QVC has named Mustafa El-Rafey to the position of senior VP talent management and rewards. In this role El-Rafey will report to Beth Rubino, executive VP of HR and workplace services, and will lead the development and implementation of a talent management and rewards strategy for QVC. Specifically, he will focus on attracting and retaining key talent, promoting development, performance and accountability, building leadership capabilities, and supporting careers.

  • Lululemon to open men’s stores

    New York -- Women’s yoga and activewear retailer Lululemon plans to open freestanding stores for men by 2016, outgoing company CEO Christine Day said during a presentation at a William Blair & Co. conference in Chicago. Day recently announced her plans to retire from the company once a successor is named.

  • Hansen resigns from Delhaize board

    Brussels, Belgium -- Jean-Pierre Hansen is resigning from the board of directors of The Delhaize Group effective June 30. Hansen, who initially joined in 2011, said the position required more time than he anticipated and he needed to attend to commitments in the energy sector and other unspecified duties.

    “I have very much enjoyed working with great colleagues on the Board and wish the company well in its future growth," said Hansen.

  • Dawn Lepore joins TJX board

    Framingham, Mass. -- Dawn Lepore, who has previously served as interim CEO of Prosper Marketplace and also held executive positions at drugstore.com and The Charles Schwab Company, has been named to the board of directors of The TJX Companies.

    TJX is expanding the size of its board with this appointment and Lepore joins 10 sitting board members.

     

  • King of Food Lion managers takes top Delhaize prize

    Food Lion store manager Charles Inman got a big surprise on Monday when some folks from the Brussels-based home office of parent company Delhaize Group showed up at his store.
     
    Inman was selected from more than 3,400 Delhaize Group store managers to receive the company’s Store Manager of the Year award and company officials decided to surprise Inman with a ceremony at his store in Clayton, N.C.
