  • Dollar General, P&G recognize Ky. teacher

    GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General is teaming up with Procter & Gamble to honor the nation’s schools and teachers as part of the company’s Every Day Heroes program.

    Through its “Success Starts Here” national marketing campaign, including an advertorial in Better Homes & Gardens, the program recognized Boone County High School in Florence, Ky., and one of its teachers, Kimberly Shearer.

  • Sears chosen to participate in EPA’s Energy Star National Building Competition

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears Holdings Corp. has been selected to participate in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star National Building Competition: Battle of the Buildings, which is designed to help improve the energy efficiency of commercial buildings and protect the environment.

  • CBRE promotes Patrick Arangio to vice chairman

    New York — CBRE Group announced today that Patrick Arangio, co-leader of CBRE’s Capital Markets’ National Loan Sale Advisory Group, has been promoted to vice chairman. The 13-year industry veteran has participated in the advisory and placement of more than $18 billion in loan sales during his career. At age 34, he will become Capital markets’ youngest vice chairman.

    In 2012, Arangio earned a spot on The Mortgage Observer’s Top 20 Under 35.

  • Coca-Cola Bottlers Association marks centennial

    The Coca-Cola Bottlers’ Association is turning 100. To mark the centennial, Bart Gobeil, chief operating officer in Georgia, will present a commendation to the association on behalf of Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, recognizing the impact that CCBA has made in supporting the local communities in which its members operate.

  • Michaels honors vendors and suppliers

    IRVING, Texas — The relationship between retailers and their suppliers are of paramount importance, and Michaels Stores marks that relationship every year at its annual partner conference, where the company recognizes its top partners at its Vendor and Supply Chain Partner of the Year Awards.

    Michaels recognized the contributions of 12 vendor and supply chain partners to the retailer during the past year.

  • Moorestown Mall signs Distrito by Iron Chef Jose Garces

    Philadelphia — Distrito, a Garces Group restaurant, has leased a 7,500-sq.-ft. space at the Moorestown Mall in Moorestown, N.J., according to the mall’s owner Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust.

    James Beard Award-winning chef and one of only a few chefs in the country designated an Iron Chef, Jose Garces owns and operates more than a dozen restaurants in five states.

  • Amazon.com tops Temkin Web Experience Ratings

    Waban, Mass. – Amazon.com was the top-ranked company across 19 industries in the 2013 Web Experience Ratings from Temkin Group. Amazon.com had a score of 77%, almost 21 percentage points higher than the retail industry average.

    Other retailers in the top 10 included eBay, tied for fifth place at 70%, and QVC, tied for eighth place at 69%. Taco Bell and Kmart earned ratings that were at least 15 points below the retail industry average. Old Navy was the only retailer to have a double-digit score increase from last year.

    Boca Raton, Fla. – Private home builder David Weekley Homes has presented Office Depot with its Partners of Choice Award. The award is presented to companies that receive the highest marks from approximately 600 David Weekley Homes employees from all levels of the organization.
