    Washington, D.C. -- Adam Brothman,  chief digital officer of Starbucks, Melissa Reiff, president and COO of The Container Store, Rick Caruso, founder and CEO of Caruso Affiliated, and Greg Buzek, co-founder of the Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI) and president of IHL Goup are among the 25 individuals recognized by the NRF Foundation on its “The List of People Shaping Retail’s Future.”

    Woonsocket, R.I. - CVS Health now offers the ScriptAbility prescription accessibility system through its mail service pharmacy to CVS/Caremark members who are blind or visually impaired. The system includes ScripTalk talking prescription labels, as well as braille and large print labels.

  • Hill veteran joins RILA as its top lobbyist

    Arlington, Va. -- The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) announced that Jennifer Safavian has joined the association as executive VP for government affairs, effective Jan. 5. As RILA’s top lobbyist, Safavian will oversee RILA’s federal and state advocacy, guiding an agenda that includes cyber security, e-Fairness, tax reform and other critical issues facing the retail industry.

  • NRF gives $100K to next generation of retailers

    The best and the brightest college students interested in retail careers will receive $100,000 in grants from the National Retail Federation (NRF) on Jan. 11 in New York City.

    The NRF Foundation will award the scholarships to 24 outstanding students as a part of its Next Generation Scholarship program.

    This year students will also be awarded a travel scholarship to attend NRF’s Big Show and NRF Student Program in New York City.

  • Tractor Supply campaign yields $763K for 4-H

    Tractor Supply Company has strengthened its partnership with the National 4-H Council by taking in $763,283 for the organization during a 10-day national in-store fundraiser.

    With the $1.5 million Tractor Supply raised during spring and fall campaigns, Tractor Supply has now donated nearly $6.5 million to 4-H programs across the country in just over four years.

  • Retail groups rebut financial industry payment card claims

    Washington, D.C. - The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and six other merchant associations have sent a letter rebutting recent comments about payment card security from the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA). Specifically, the letter outlines three points.  
  • Supply chain stakeholders urge Obama to act on West Coast ports

    Washington, D.C. – More than 160 national, state and local trade associations and organizations, representing the interests of the global supply chain and local communities, wrote to President Barack Obama Dec. 23 to urge the administration’s immediate involvement in the ongoing contract negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association. The ILWU and PMA have been negotiating a new labor contract, which covers dockworkers at the 29 West Coast U.S. ports.
