Northeast Grocery has named Scott Kessler as executive VP, chief information officer.

The parent company of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets has named Scott Kessler as its new executive VP and chief information officer.
Most recently, Kessler served as executive VP/CIO of BJ’s Wholesale Club. Prior to joining BJ’s in 2017, he was with department store company Belk, where he served as executive VP/CIO. Kessler also held senior level management roles at GSI Commerce, and Accenture.
In his new role, Kessler will provide leadership and expertise to Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets through Northeast Shared Services. He will spearhead the development and execution of the company’s technology roadmap to align with business goals, and direct the IT functions of both companies and work closely with all areas of the business to identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency.

Headquartered in Schenectady, N.Y., Northeast Grocery Inc. operates nearly 300 Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Friendly Markets supermarkets across New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.
