Barnes & Noble partners with film studio for in-store shops
Barnes & Noble has entered into a “first of its kind” in-store partnership with indie film studio and entertainment company A24.
Select Barnes & Noble stores nationwide (list of locations at end of article) have unveiled the “A24 Shop” experience, a custom-designed branded space curated by the studio, with more locations to launch in 2026. A24 is the company behind such releases as the Academy Award-winning movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once," the upcoming "Marty Supreme" film, "Beef" on Netflix and "Euphoria" on HBO. The company also has a book publishing division.
The dedicated space in Barnes & Noble showcases A24 bestsellers along with new products inspired by its intellectual properties, including A24 books, Blu-rays, vinyl, collectibles and exclusive merchandise.
The partnership also includes in-store A24 events. Barnes & Noble recently celebrated the launch of Eleanor Coppola’s posthumous memoir "Two of Me: Notes on Living & Leaving," which featured a live in-store conversation between Sofia and Roman Coppola moderated by Vogue editor Keaton Bell.
The collaboration marks the first time Barnes & Noble has partnered with a brand on this type of activation on a national scale, the company said. It comes as brick-and-mortar book stores are having a resurgence Barnes & Noble is on track to open more than 60 new stores in 2025.
“Storytelling has always been at the heart of Barnes & Noble, and we’re thrilled to partner with A24, the home for storytelling on screen,” said Bill Castle, Barnes & Noble’s director of media. “This partnership gives fans another way to experience the stories, films, and artists they love.”
