Banana Republic looks to ‘rock the vote’

Banana Republic wants to promote voter registration.

The retailer, a division of Gap Inc., is partnering with nonpartisan, non-profit Rock the Vote, which will provide email and text election reminders to those who register to vote and voter education and mobilization tools to those preparing to vote, including absentee ballot requests.

To promote these efforts, Banana Republic will feature a new, selection of reusable, non-medical grade cloth face masks on its website with Vote For A Better Republic and Vote messaging. The retailer will donate $5 for every face mask sold to Rock the Vote (up to $25,000).

The Banana Republic initiative was announced the same day that another Gap brand, Old Navy, announced that it will pay its store employees who serve as poll workers on Election Day.
