The chief executive of AutoNation has taken a leave of absence for health reasons.

The nation’s largest auto dealership disclosed in a regulatory filing Monday that CEO Cheryl Miller had taken the leave. It did not provide more details.  Executive chairman Mike Jackson has been appointed to serve as CEO until Miller returns. The moves are effective immediately.

Miller, 47, served as the company’s CFO before being appointed as CEO in July last year.
