American Freight expands global sourcing capabilities

American Freight
American Freight has over 350 U.S. locations across 40 states.

American Freight is diversifying its supply chain.

The value furniture, mattresses and appliances retailer has expanded into new international sourcing territories, with a focus on Vietnam and Malaysia. The move will significantly enhance American Freight’s product offerings and provide customers with an even broader selection of high-quality home furnishings at attractive prices, the company said.

As part of the sourcing expansion, American Freight said it has introduced a variety of new products in response to customer demand for greater lifestyle options, including barstools, upholstered headboards and sideboards. It also added new upholstery assortments.

Customers can choose home delivery or take advantage of significant savings by picking up their purchases directly from the store, often on the same day, the retailer noted.

"In response to growing consumer demand for value amid rising inflation, we are strategically expanding our product sourcing capabilities to top production countries,” said Alissa Ahlman, chief merchandising officer, home furnishing division at Franchise Group, the parent company of American Freight and Buddy’s Home Furnishings. “By diversifying our supply chain and tapping into a broader range of markets, we can secure high-quality products at competitive prices and extend into new product categories as well. This initiative not only allows us to better meet the needs of our customers but also strengthens our global partnerships and enhances our resilience in an ever-changing economic landscape."

In line with the sourcing expansion, American Freight has appointed Stephanie Koda as the company’s new divisional VP of sourcing - furniture and mattress. She has over 30 years of retail sourcing experience across specialty, department store, big-box, and wholesale channels, and has held key positions at leading retailers including At Home, Gap, JCPenney, and Pottery Barn.

The company has more than 350 U.S. locations across 40 states.
