Three major retailers are reporting their best-ever Cyber Week online sales results.

While data from both Adobe and Salesforce indicates that overall online spending hit new heights during Cyber Week 2022, several individual retailers are also announcing record-breaking e-commerce performance over the five-day period between Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday.

Following are Cyber Week online sales highlights from Amazon, Wayfair, and Ace Hardware.

Amazon

While Amazon did not release specific overall Cyber Week figures, the e-tail giant said small businesses selling on its platform generated more than $1 billion in online sales. The best-selling Cyber Week categories across Amazon were home, fashion, toys, beauty, and Amazon devices.

The best-selling items on Amazon were Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, and Apple AirPods. Customers also bought millions of Amazon Devices, including Echo, Ring, Blink, Kindle, and Fire TV products.

“This was a record-breaking holiday shopping weekend for Amazon. Customers shopped millions of deals this weekend and we have many more amazing deals to come,” said Doug Herrington, CEO, worldwide Amazon Stores.

Wayfair

Wayfair reported a low-single-digit sales increase in the U.S. during Cyber Week compared to the same time period in 2021. Black Friday was the biggest Cyber Week sales day for Wayfair. On Black Friday, shoppers purchased a piece of bedding from Wayfair every five seconds, a vanity or faucet every 13 seconds, and enough Christmas trees to add up to 845 Rockefeller Center trees. Between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday, Wayfair shoppers purchased enough rugs to cover more than 75,000 soccer fields.

Repeat customers accounted for 73% of holiday orders for the five-day period, with hundreds of thousands of new customers ordering from Wayfair for the first time.

“As we continue to drive customer and supplier loyalty, this important five-day shopping period was a success, and we are excited to see order growth improving as prices get sharper,” said Niraj Shah, CEO, co-founder and co-chairman, Wayfair. “In fact, leading up to Cyber Five, our November year-over-year revenue trends strengthened relative to the down 10% quarter-to-date update we shared on our recent conference call, with the Cyber Five period itself comping flat for the company.”

Ace Hardware

Ace Hardware reported record online sales over the Cyber Week shopping period from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday. The home improvement retail cooperative saw record single-day online sales on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, fueled by strong demand for grills & smokers, electric mowers and snow blowers, and power tools.

Key online sales figures included a 45% increase in sales on Black Friday over 2021, setting a new single-day online sales record for Ace Hardware. Ace experienced a 33% increase in online sales on Cyber Monday compared to the prior year. Altogether, Ace Hardware's digital business for Cyber Week generated a 33% increase over 2021.

"Our strong increase in sales over Cyber Week is a testament to our organizational focus of being the best in service, quality, and convenience for our customers. Our continuous investments in the digital and omnichannel shopping experience make it easy for customers to shop Ace any way they prefer," said Bill Kiss, head of digital at Ace Hardware.
