Amazon previews Prime Day deals – including some available now

Amazon is getting a head start on select Prime Day discounts and giving advance notice of others.

With Prime Day coming up June 21-22, Amazon is making some of the scheduled 2 million deals available early, and is announcing other deals ahead of time. The omnichannel giant released an initial batch of early Prime Day deals on June 7, and is now making more promotional offers available before the event officially starts. 

Through Tuesday, June 22, Whole Foods Market stores will offer discounts on a variety of exclusive new seasonal items. Starting Friday, June 18 at noon PDT, Prime members can get early access to select deals by shopping with the Alexa voice assistant in the Amazon app or on an Echo device. And through Sunday, June 20, Amazon will offer a $10 credit to use on Prime Day to members who spend $10 on products from select U.S.-based small business brands and products in Amazon’s store, including products from Amazon Handmade and Amazon Launchpad. 

In addition, in time for Prime Day, Amazon is launching its dedicated Back-to-School and Off-to-College storefronts featuring fall fashions, dorm room décor, and school supplies. Product assortment includes laptops, backpacks, clothing and more. 

Amazon says Prime Day 2021 will feature the largest number of deals in the shopping event’s seven-year history. Additionally, Prime members will be able to shop featured lightning deals, which offer extra-low prices on top-tier brands, categories, and products for limited time periods.

Specific product categories included in Amazon’s Prime Day deals include electronics, smart home, Amazon devices, small business, Amazon Handmade, Amazon Launchpad, fashion, beauty and wellness, baby, kitchen, home, furniture, lawn and garden, pets, tools, sports and outdoors, automotive, and toys. The Amazon Music, Prime Video, Kindle Unlimited, and Explore streaming services will also feature deals.
