Walmart will release its third-quarter earnings on Tuesday, Nov. 16.
Earnings season is fast approaching for a number of major apparel, big box and home improvement retailers.
First out of the gate will be Walmart, which will report its third-quarter results on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 6 a.m. (CT). As to what to expect, here’s a preview from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai.
“Walmart’s foot traffic surged in October, with visits up 5.2% compared to 2019 — the strongest comparative mark the retailer has seen all year,” wrote Ethan Chernofsky, VP of marketing for Placer.ai, in a report about Walmart’s performance in recent months. “The brand seems primed to capitalize on the upcoming holiday season. After a decline in visits following the back-to-school shopping season, weekly foot traffic to the chain has rebounded during the week of October 25 with 5.6% more visits than the same week in 2019.” (For Placer.ai reports on other retailers click here.)
