A multinational footwear retailer is seamlessly opening and managing orders across channels.

The Aldo Group, a Canadian multinational retailer that owns and operates footwear and accessories stores across the world, is deploying the Fluent Commerce distributed order management system (OMS), Fluent Order Management, to support omnichannel order fulfillment.

The retailer will implement Fluent Order Management throughout the more than 1,500 stores it operates in more than countries under three banners: Aldo, Call It Spring, and Globo. As a result, Aldo now has real-time inventory visibility, which provides awareness of exactly which goods are selling and where.

In addition, customers can check which products are in stock before visiting a store or making an online purchase, Aldo can also now open and manage orders from any sales channel and coordinate the fulfillment process across all customer touchpoints, with the goal of improving the overall customer experience.

The company, which employs 5,500 staff across North America, is initially rolling out Fluent Order Management in Canada and the U.S.

"When it came to selecting an OMS, the flexibility of Fluent Commerce's offering stood out," said Matthieu Houle, CIO at the Aldo Group. "We need a platform that will not only meet the consumer expectations of today, but tomorrow's as well. That requires it to have the potential to exceed expectations as we grow the business, and we found Fluent Commerce's product has that."

"I'm thrilled to see a renowned business like the Aldo Group utilize Fluent Order Management," said Graham Jackson, CEO, Fluent Commerce. "The platform's strength and rapid time to market have proved exactly what we can do to help businesses with their e-commerce initiatives, offering them the flexibility to adapt and develop new revenue sources while also providing customers with more delivery alternatives."

Aldo is in the process of executing a broader cloud-based, best-of-breed enterprise approach. The company utilizes the SAP Commerce Cloud platform to support the creation a composable architecture, or a cloud-based collection of integrated, best-of-breed solutions that communicate with each other and act as a customized technology ecosystem.

The retailer is also currently transitioning its POS system to the Flooid unified commerce platform to enable a seamless checkout experience that crosses channels, and is examining possible online search applications.

In addition to its head office in Montreal, Canada, The Aldo Group has international offices in Europe and in Asia.
