Ala Moana Center to ring in 'Year of the Snake'
Lunar New Year Wishing Wall
Shoppers are invited to commemorate the new year by leaving their special messages of hope, health, and happiness on Ala Moana’s Lunar New Year Wishing Wall. The display will be available from Jan. 18 – Feb. 2 and located on Mall Level 2, Center Court between Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
Lunar New Year Store Offers
For a limited time, select retailers at Ala Moana will be offering exclusive Lunar New Year products and promotions, including Big Island Candies, Golden Goose, Happy Wahine, Honolulu Cookie Company, Hublot, K. Minamoto, Macy’s, Montblanc, Swatch, and T&C Surf Designs.
Lunar New Year Event Schedule
To ring in the Year of the Snake, Ala Moana will offer an array of cultural experiences to celebrate Lunar New Year. Shoppers can enjoy performances and activities designed to usher in good fortune and prosperity. The following events will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1:
Saturday, Feb. 1
11 – 11:30 a.m. Kickoff ceremony at Centerstage
12 – 2:30 p.m. Center-wide lion dance
Enjoy the sights and sounds of more than 20 lions spreading good luck and collecting lai see from various stores and restaurants throughout Ala Moana. More than 100 stores will be participating, including ALOHA Collection, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Foodland Farms, Hublot, LexBreezy Hawaii, Local Motion, Lucky Strike Social, Lululemon, macy’s, MANAOLA Hawaiʻi, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Sephora, Tanoa, and more.
2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Chinese calligraphy demonstrations at Ewa Wing Stage
Meet master calligrapher, Ina Chang, and receive a complimentary, hand-lettered good luck fortune. The event is first come, first served.
3 – 3:30 p.m. Cultural demonstrations at Centerstage
Enjoy the sights and sounds of a Chinese lion table dance, storytelling, and a traditional drumming demonstration.
5 – 5:45 p.m. Pole jumping at Centerstage
