1-800-Flowers hiring 2,000 more holiday workers this year than last

E-commerce retailer 1-800-Flowers is quadrupling its workforce as it anticipates a busy and “unusual” holiday season.

The company is planning to hire more than 10,000 seasonal employees across its gourmet foods and gift brands for the upcoming holiday season. Last year, the company announced that it would hire 8,000 seasonal associates.

1-800-Flowers said that seasonal hiring has already started at Harry & David, Cheryl’s Cookies, The Popcorn Factory and PersonalizationMall.com (which it recently acquired from Bed Bath & Beyond). The majority of the seasonal hires will be based in Oregon, Illinois, and Ohio, with some work-from-home positions available.

The seasonal positions vary by brand and include full-time and part-time roles in areas such as production, gift assembly, customer service, and distribution and fulfillment center operations, among others.

In June, 1-800-Flowers raised its full-year fiscal 2020 profit, revenue and free cash flow growth outlook as more customers went online during the pandemic.

"The 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. family of brands helps customers express, connect and celebrate with the important people in their lives every day – and, we value the important role we play in helping people stay connected during the holiday season," stated Maureen Paradine, senior VP, human resources. "Our seasonal associates play a pivotal role in ensuring we deliver millions of holiday smiles, and we are pleased to offer qualified candidates exciting incentives to join our incredible team.”
