Yonkers town center moves back into full business mode

The 21st Century, mixed-use town center proved well-equipped to deal with the COVID-19 shutdowns, in large part because its many restaurants have front doors on a street that makes curbside delivery easy.

Ridge Hill in Yonkers, N.Y., one of Chain Store Age’s first Top 10 Retail Center Experiences in 2017, was one that stayed busy through the pandemic. Owned by Australia-based Queensland Investment Corporation, Ridge Hill’s high perch in the hills of Westchester County had its streets full of diners waiting in cars, picking up orders from Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s, and YardHouse.

Ridge Hill officially re-opened earlier this month from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Mondays through Sundays with new signage and pick-up locations, as well as a social-distancing queue at its Apple Store.  Check out the slide show above for a closer look.

And if you operate or know of a retail center you think might qualify for this year’s special Top 10 COMEBACK Retail Centers awards, please complete this nomination form. Deadline is June 30.
