Williams-Sonoma taps company veteran as president of stores and customer care

Williams-Sonoma Inc. has promoted a longtime executive to a new role focused on its physical footprint.

The home furnishings retailer has named Vicki McWilliams as president of stores and customer care. She leads the entire fleet of stores across the Williams-Sonoma portfolio of brands.

McWilliams has spent more than 19 years with the company, and most recently served as executive VP of stores and customer care. Prior to joining Williams-Sonoma, she spent more than 26 years at Nordstrom in various roles.

“Vicki is an exceptional leader whose deep understanding of our stores and unwavering commitment to customer service make her the ideal person to lead our retail organization,” said Laura Alber, president and CEO of Williams-Sonoma, who has led the company since 2010. “With Vicki as president of stores and customer care we will continue to elevate the customer experience as part of our commitment to delivering world-class customer service.”

Williams-Sonoma credits McWilliams with delivering “impactful results” while strengthening the company’s retail organization, including participating in the expansion of the company’s international presence in the United Kingdom and Mexico, and supporting the growth of its Canada business.

The retailer says McWilliams has also helped drive several key initiatives, including the launch of in-home design services, the implementation of AI tools across customer care, the growth and transformation of the outlet business, and the expansion of in-store experiences such as classes and events.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Williams-Sonoma’s portfolio of brands includes Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, West Elm, Williams Sonoma Home, Rejuvenation, Mark and Graham, and GreenRow.
