Northern California's largest mall, Westfield Valley Fair, has partnered with Kitchen United to deliver its expansive menu to Silicon Valley.

In a first-of-its-kind deal for Unibail Rodamco Westfield in the United States, Silicon Valley’s Westfield Valley Fair has welcomed in Kitchen United to ramp up takeout orders and deliveries.

Kitchen United will set up ghost kitchen operations in the Santa Clara mall—the largest retail destination in Northern California—to facilitate to-go orders and deliver them or place them in lockers for pick-up.  A vertical conveyor belt will move orders from the second floor Dining Terrace to a ground floor pick-up station.

Valley Fair restaurants that to be listed on Kitchen United’s MIX website and a Westfield app include Koja Kitchen, Pizza My Heart, Big Fish Little Fish, Men Oh Ramen, and Haagen Dazs.

“MIX unlocks incremental off-premise demand for the restaurants at this Westfield location that are faced with indoor dining limitations amid the pandemic,” said Atul Sood, chief business officer of Kitchen United.

Valley Fair director of marketing Kate Diefenderfer is of the opinion that multiple-vendor delivery programs like MIX are the perfect takeout solution for malls.

“With the flexibility to place one order with multiple restaurants simultaneously, regardless of location, restaurants have the ability to capitalize on the demand for food to-go,” Diefenderfer said.
