Taiko drummers will welcome customers to the Cherry Hill Uniqlo on August 25.
The Japanese “life-wear” brand continues its expansion on America’s East and West coasts with an opening at PREIT’s crown jewel property.
Uniqlo's 8,200-sq.-ft. store will welcome customers at New Jersey’s Cherry Hill Mall outside of Philadelphia with a Taiko drumming performance on August 25. It will be the brand’s fifth store in New Jersey—the others being located at American Dream, Menlo Park, Newport Centre, Paramus Park, and Willowbrook Center.
“As we open the doors to this international brand, we reaffirm Cherry Hill Mall’s place as an unrivaled gem within our portfolio and a fashion destination for South Jersey and Greater Philadelphia residents and visitors,” said PREIT CEO Joseph Coradino.
More Uniqlo openings will continue nationwide this fall in the brand’s ongoing campaign to have 200 stores in North America by the end of 2027.
As part of its entry into the market, Uniqlo Cherry Hill’s store staff volunteered at the Cherry Hill Food Pantry, packing groceries for local residents in need. With its RE.Uniqlo program, the brand has long asked customers to donate gently worn Uniqlo clothing to local stores for redistribution to needy local families. In Cherry Hill, those donations will go to Families Forward Philadelphia, an organization that aids homeless families and assists them in maintaining permanent housing.
“We are incredibly excited to open our newest store in the New Jersey area, a region we have loved being a part of for many years,” said Uniqlo USA CEO Yoshihide Shindo. “Our Cherry Hill team has worked incredibly hard preparing a beautiful store, and we look forward to welcoming all on August 25.”
Other recent openings at Cherry Hill mall included Eddie V’s restaurant and Psycho Bunny. Brooks Brothers and Oak & Fort are scheduled to open later this year.
