10% discounts will greet shoppers on Thursday.

Two Saks Off 5th locations that were closed in 2019 are back in business this week in the Windy City.

On Thursday, grand re-opening events will welcome a 40,000-sq.-ft. store at 1457 North Halsted Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and a 23,500-sq.-ft. store on 6 S. State Street as part of the New City housing and entertainment district.

The first 25 shoppers will receive Saks Off 5th gift cards and all customers will receive 10% discounts throughout the day.

Saks Off 5th is a standalone operating company of Hudson's Bay Company. In June 2021, Insight Partners led a $200 million equity investment in the Saks Off 5th ecommerce business, valuing the company at approximately $1 billion.

"Saks Off 5th has a long-standing presence in Chicago so it felt natural to reopen these important locations to best serve our customers," Saks Off 5th's president Rob Brooks said in a news release. "The in-store experience is an important part of our customer's shopping journey with Saks Off 5th, as evidenced by our successful openings in Eastchester, New York, and Stamford, Connecticut, earlier this year. We look forward to re-opening our State Street and Lincoln Park locations.

Market research conducted by Saks Off 5th last year revealed that the brand had significant appeal to a younger, fashion-minded customers that want to stay on top of the latest trends by seeking out great deals.
