Topgolf's Philly location will be on the site of the former Nabisco plant off Route 1.
In the last two months, Topgolf opened two new venues (one with a 10-hole golf course) in California. Now it’s about to do the same in Pennsylvania.
On the site of the old Nabisco plant, off U.S. Route 1 near the Philadelphia Mills mall, Topgolf will be building its 77th global location, a standard three-level, open-air facility with 102 climate-controlled hitting bays.
Topgolf announced that an identical facility will soon be under construction less than 30 miles northwest of the Philadelphia site in King of Prussia, home of one of the five largest malls in America—Simon’s King of Prussia Mall.
"Our focus is on creating more opportunities to enable people to play," said Topgolf chief development officer Chris Callaway. "The King of Prussia venue is a great example of that as we expand our relationship with the communities in and around Greater Philadelphia.”
Topgolf’s only other location in Pennsylvania is in Bridgeville, within the Pittsburgh metro.
