C Spire is giving its customers a big perk when they activate a new line.
The wireless carrier is offering customers a free year of Amazon Prime when they activate a new line with an eligible data plan on the company's 4G LTE network. If consumers already have the service, one year will be added to their subscription.
To qualify for the offer, consumers must purchase a phone on C Spire's Device Payment Plan, or pay the full retail price with an eligible postpaid data plan. Current customers also can receive the free one year-membership when they activate a new line.
"This offering is consistent with our goal of helping those customers who may still be on the fence to easily adopt a more digital lifestyle," said Brian Caraway, general manager of the company's wireless unit. "It's also a great way for people who already are members to get a year added to their subscription.”
Amazon Prime typically costs $119 a year. Amazon
raised the price of its annual Prime membership to $119 from $99 in April. New members started paying the new rate in May, and renewals began paying the increase in June. This was the company’s first annual price increase since March 2014. The price was originally $79 before it jumped to $99.
