Count Wayfair among the online retailers seeking to get a jump on Amazon Prime Day.
The home furnishing giant’s Way Day 2019 online sales event kicks off Wednesday, April 10 at noon PT. The special promotion will run 36 hours for all Wayfair customers in North America, the U.K., and Germany with special savings and free shipping across the Wayfair, AllModern, Joss & Main, and Birch Lane sites. The online home furnishings titan promises the lowest prices it has offered since Black Friday.
Wayfair
launched Way Day as a 24-hour online sales event across 70,000 products on April 25, 2018. In addition to upping the amount of hours, the e-tailer is also increasing the assortment of discounted products to 100,000 items. There will also be thousands of limited-time flash deals throughout the event.
Furthermore, Wayfair will introduce some new site features during Way Day. These include Wayfair On Air, a livestream of video product reviews on-site showcasing dozens of products available at Way Day discount prices. In addition, Wayfair will debut its new “Share and Save” feature offering shoppers the opportunity to save an additional 40% off at checkout on select products by sharing deals on social media.
“This Way Day, we are making the celebration even bigger and better than last year with more flash deals and steeper discounts across an even broader selection of products and services – all for an extended period of time,” said Steve Oblak, chief merchandising officer, Wayfair. “We know that home is top of mind for our customers in the spring as they look to refresh or renovate their homes and update their outdoor spaces in preparation for summer entertaining. Partnering with our thousands of suppliers to source the best possible deals on popular products, we have created a premier holiday sales event specifically designed for our customers.”
Wayfair credit card members who shop Way Day deals will earn triple rewards on all purchases made with their card. Customers who sign up for Wayfair’s MyWay loyalty program will have access to discounted in-home services.
eBay also recently launched a special online sales event presumably aimed at obtaining an early competitive edge against Amazon Prime Day, typically held in July. Starting on Sunday, March 24,
eBay kicked off 16 consecutive days of daily offers on a wide variety of products. Each day through Monday, April 8, eBay unveils new discounts in different categories.
