Tech veteran promoted to Oracle Retail VP

A 30-year industry veteran is taking day-to-day control of the Oracle Retail global business unit.



Oracle has appointed Ray Carlin as senior VP and general manager, Oracle Retail. Carlin will be responsible for leading the Oracle Retail global business unit and report to Mike Webster, Oracle’s senior VP and general manager, retail and hospitality.



In this role, Carlin will be responsible for Oracle Retail’s strategy, enablement, development, sales, service, and support. He brings more than 30 years of retail industry experience. Most recently, Carlin was VP of strategy for the Oracle global hospitality portfolio, leading product direction, market analysis, alliances, and field enablement.



Previously, he was VP and general manager for the Hewlett Packard (HP) retail solutions global business unit. Prior to joining HP in 2009, Carlin was president and CEO of StoreNext Retail Technologies LLC and executive VP of Retalix USA. He launched his career at NCR Corp., where he held increasingly responsible positions during a span of 20 years including VP, U.S. retail systems division; VP, worldwide industry marketing, and senior VP, Americas region. Earlier in his career, Carlin served in a variety of retail vertical sales, industry marketing, and product management leadership roles.
