Target is getting even closer to offering its same-day delivery service across approximately half of its stores.
Leveraging its recent acquisition of on-demand grocery delivery provider Shipt, Target will offer same-day deliveries in Colorado, beginning May 3. Customers across the Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver and Fort Collins metro areas will be able to shop across more than 55,000 groceries, essentials, home, electronics, toys and other products, and receive merchandise within an hour.
New members who sign up for the service prior to launch will receive an annual membership for $49 (it is regularly $99).
The expansion coincides with Target’s plan to offer same-day delivery across approximately half of its 1,834 stores by early 2018. By the end of the year, a majority of Target stores across nearly 180 markets will offer the service. The company expects to make all major product categories available for same-day delivery by the end of 2019.
"Same-day delivery was at the top of our list when we were thinking about ways to make shopping at Target even easier," said John Mulligan, executive VP and COO, Target. "Shipt's personalized, customer-focused approach fits perfectly with our commitment to deliver a convenient, exceptional experience."
