Staples Inc. is getting into the licensing game as a means of expanding its brand into business services. It’s first target — cloud storage.
By partnering with GRM Document Management, a provider of information management solutions, the chain now offers Staples Record and Cloud management, a solution designed to help businesses surely store and manage records. Staples’ technology gives business customers a way to implement a records management solution; securely organize, maintain and manage records, as well as comply with industry and government security regulations.
The cloud-based solution uses agile technology to share, collaborate and manage business records; provide end-to-end encryption, and approve workflow. In addition to e-signature capability, annotation and revision management, the solution also features heightened levels of security via controlled access, on-demand scanning and imaging that streamlines the conversion of paper documents to digital, a company statement said.
“By working with other innovative companies offering business solutions we’re able to extend that brand to other product areas, and introduce our customers to a whole new set of offerings,” said Frank Bifulco, executive VP, global marketing, Staples.
