Report: Zara expands robot-based pickup kiosks to more stores

3/8/2018
A fast-fashion powerhouse is doubling down on its robotic “click and collect” kiosks.

Zara now features robot-driven self-service kiosks in 85 stores. The technology allows shoppers to retrieve their online orders without human intervention, according to Pymts.com, which cited The Wall Street Journal.

Customers who have placed online orders can scan or enter a code at collection kiosks in Zara stores. Then robots search for the corresponding order and bring it to a drop box where a customer can pick it up, the report explained.

The retailer began testing two kiosks in a store in Spain in December.
