Sprouts Farmers Market and Amazon are going their separate ways.
The natural foods grocer said Thursday that it ended its partnership with Amazon on May 1, and will no longer fulfill orders for the online giant’s Prime Now delivery service, according to
CNBC.
Sprouts had an 18-month partnership with Amazon across 15 of its stores. These locations were used as distribution hubs for Amazon’s Prime Now orders.
The move will enable Sprouts to focus on its new partnership with Instacart, which it entered into in January. While the transition is expected to take a temporary toll on same-store sales, the grocer does expect to grow the business, the report said.
