Report: Amazon purchases startup to support Marketplace imports

Amazon is reportedly investing in technology to ease cross-border shipments for third-party sellers on Amazon Marketplace.

According to Reuters, Amazon has purchased INLT, a tech startup with offices in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, for an undisclosed sum. INLT develops cloud-based software designed to manage the process of clearing customs and costs for international shipping. Amazon Marketplace sellers mostly manage importing processes themselves.

“INLT is a smart, nimble team that is helping companies simplify and lower the cost of importing goods into the U.S.,” an Amazon spokesperson said to Reuters. “We’re excited to work with them to develop the next generation of solutions for their customers and Amazon selling partners.”
