Amazon is designing specialized chips for its Alexa home speakers, and may be eyeing chips for its Amazon Web Services data centers, a move that would be focused on machine training, according to Barron’s, which cited The Information.
Amazon is able to enhance its chip-making operations through its recent acquisitions of Israeli-based chip maker Annapurna Labs, and Blink, a provider of low-power security cameras.
