According to
Wine-Searcher, Amazon has been quietly running a liquor store in Los Angeles since February 2019. The e-tail giant (which has been increasingly moving into the brick-and-mortar space)

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed to
Wine-Searcher that the Los Angeles store essentially functions as a physical location to fulfill Prime Now alcohol orders. Like the proposed San Francisco store, it is adjacent to an Amazon warehouse. Amazon’s license application for the San Francisco store lists Prime Now as the primary owner. California state law requires liquor delivery operations to operate a storefront.
