Regional grocer to add speedy online grocery deliveries

7/24/2018
Hy-Vee is the newest retailer to offer same-day online grocery delivery through a partnership with a fast-growing start-up.

Hy-Vee is teaming up with on-demand grocery delivery service Instacart, a move that will allow the retailer to offer same-day deliveries in as little as an hour. Stores operating in more than two dozen markets across Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin will offer the same-day delivery service. Additional markets will continue to be added to the program, according to the grocer.

Instacart enables users to note their grocery preferences, choose a delivery window and pay for their orders all on Instacart's mobile app or website. The service will complement the grocer’s online shopping program, Hy-Vee Aisles Online.

"With more than 245 stores across an eight-state region, Hy-Vee is constantly expanding its offerings," said Matt Ludwig, Hy-Vee's CIO and executive VP of e-commerce. "Our new partnership with Instacart is a natural fit as more of our customers are looking for personalized, same-day delivery from their preferred online grocery delivery service."
