President of Jet.com to join venture capital firm

2/7/2018
The president of Walmart’s Jet.com is moving on.

Liza Landsman will join global venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA) in early spring as a venture partner. She will focus on consumer technology and commerce and be based out of the firm's New York City office.

Landsman started out at Jet.com as the chief customer officer, and stayed with the company when it was acquired by Walmart in late 2016. She was subsequently named president of Jet.com after founder Marc Lore was appointed president and CEO of Walmart eCommerce U.S., in a role that oversees all of the company e-commerce operations in the U.S.

Prior to Jet.com, Landsman was chief marketing officer and a member of the executive committee at E*Trade. Landsman also served as the digital global head at BlackRock, was responsible for firm-wide digital marketing strategy and operations. For a decade prior to BlackRock, Landsman headed customer engagement across Internet and mobile platforms through multiple senior management positions at Citigroup.

During her tenure at Jet.com, Landsman helped to successfully launch the brand online and via mobile. She also drove rapid user acquisition and growth.

An ardent advocate for social issues, Landsman helped launch Jet.com’s social good program, JetCares. She also signed the Equal Pay Pledge to support continued diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

“I have centered my career around helping brands leverage data and insights to best serve the consumer, and I am excited to work with NEA and its partners to continue fostering innovative ideas and strategies for companies throughout their lifecycle,” said Landsman.
