Potbelly Sandwich Shop bites into popular delivery option

8/16/2019
Yet another quick-service restaurant chain is realizing the potential of on-demand digital delivery.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is partnering with on-demand delivery service DoorDash to offer online and mobile delivery at stores across the country. Potbelly is now included in the list of local restaurants on the DoorDash site and mobile app, enabling DoorDash users to place delivery orders.

To kick off the new partnership, Potbelly and DoorDash are offering a buy-one-get-one-free sandwich exclusively through DoorDash on orders of $15 or more, through Sunday, Aug. 18 with a promo code.

“As a proud papa of three, I know the dinner struggle is real – satisfying the whole squad without breaking the bank is beastmode-level parenting,” said Potbelly chief marketing officer Brandon Rhoten. “With DoorDash we found a partner that can help ease back-to-school chaos and make parents the real heroes.”

August 2019 has also seen casual-dining chain Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar begin offering on-demand digital delivery via DoorDash at select locations across the U.S.

In July, Starbucks announced plans to make its Starbucks Delivers delivery service available throughout the U.S. in early 2020 through an agreement with Uber Eats.

Since March, pizza chain Papa John’s has been offering digital order delivery from DoorDash at more than 1,400 locations across the U.S. And in February, Taco Bell made nationwide delivery available via online food delivery platform Grubhub.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop operates more than 400 company-owned and more than 40 franchised stores in the U.S.
