Office Depot Mexico ties merchandising to customers

Office Depot Mexico is increasing visibility of omnichannel product movement, with the goal of improving customer experience.

The Latin American office products retailer is deploying the Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Store Inventory Management and Xstore Point-of-Service solutions to bolster merchandising accuracy by increasing visibility into the movement of every product across its omnichannel operations.

As part of a broader digital transformation strategy, Office Depot Mexico has also leveraged Oracle Retail modules to improve the engagement and experience of its customers. By marrying the data from its new ERP systems with the Oracle Retail Insights and Customer Engagement CRM applications, Office Depot Mexico seeks to gain a deeper understanding of each customer and be better able to engage them through relevant, timely offers and in-store interactions tailored to their unique needs, preferences, and consumption habits.

Office Depot Mexico selected Oracle Retail Consulting to implement the project.

Other retailers have also recently been rolling out Oracle Retail ERP solutions to obtain deeper levels of supply chain insight. Department store retailer Bealls Inc. is obtaining new levels of inventory transparency with cloud-based Oracle Retail technology such as Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations, Oracle Retail Home, and Oracle Retail Insights Cloud Service.

In addition, off-price retailer Stein Mart has gained a holistic view of its inventory and a more streamlined approach to merchandise planning by implementing the Oracle Cloud enterprise platform.

Office Depot Mexico operates stores and an e-commerce business across Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Honduras, and Chile. The company has more than 12,500 employees in the region, including associates from FESA, Casa Marchand, Grupo Prisa, and RadioShack.
