Kohl’s giving financial aid to its hurricane-affected employees

8/30/2017

Kohl's is reaching out to its associates as well as the general public impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

The retailer said it will provide an estimated $1 million in financial support to its employees who have been significantly impacted by the storm. Kohl’s will continue to monitor the impact of the flooding throughout the region to evaluate the need for additional assistance.

In addition, Kohl's announced a $500,000 cash donation toward hurricane relief and recovery efforts in Texas and across the Gulf Coast. Kohl’s is providing the donation to the American Red Cross, which is delivering emergency supplies and services in the impacted areas.

“In addition to supporting the communities we serve, we are also providing assistance to our associates who have been directly impacted by the storm to help as they recover," said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandising and customer officer. "Our hearts are with the people of Texas and across the Gulf Coast.”

In addition to financial contributions, Kohl’s is encouraging its associates to volunteer in support of relief efforts through Kohl’s volunteer program.
