Journeys’ new gifting option targets teen shoppers

10/26/2016

Journeys’ new gifting program is primed to personalize the shopping experience among its young customer base.

While this segment is too young to carry credit cards, teens are digitally savvy and increasingly mobile-driven. Leveraging these factors, Journeys is launching an online and digital gift card program across three of its brands.

By partnering with CashStar, Journeys, Journeys Kids and Shi by Journeys now enable shoppers to purchase digital gift cards electronically, as well as personalize the payment vehicle with custom faceplates, photos and video uploads — content that resonates with their young target audience.

Operating in the teen specialty retail sector, “we cater to a digitally savvy, mobile demographic that expects immediacy, ease of use and personalization,” explained John Tighe, senior VP, Journeys direct-to-consumer. “This gifting platform enables us to expand our digital and plastic gifting efforts and grow our business.”
