Dunkin’ Donuts makes it easier for mobile users to ‘order on the go’
The coffee chain is taking mobile ordering to a new level.
Through a partnership with mapping and navigation app Waze, Dunkin’ Donuts is launching its new “Order Ahead” program — a move that not only streamlines the mobile ordering process, but helps guests get to their destination faster.
Here’s how it works: As “Wazers” launch the Waze app, they can use the app to pinpoint their nearest Dunkin' Donuts restaurant. A tap of a dedicated icon launches Dunkin’ Donuts’ On-the-Go Ordering functionality directly within the Waze app.
Once the chain’s On-the-Go menu is displayed, guests can pick desired items from the menu, and apply “DD Perks” rewards and offers, and pay for the order via their mobile device. The order is placed by tapping the app’s “I’m Ready for Pickup” button.
Guests follow Waze’s directions to their chosen Dunkin’ Donuts location, where they pick up their order at a dedicated counter.
The app can be used on iPhones, iPod touch devices or Android smartphones. Even though ordering is processed through the Waze app, users must download the latest version of the Dunkin' Donuts mobile app, according to the retailer.
