Department store retailer strengthens ties with J.Crew brand

7/27/2016

Nordstrom is doubling down on its partnership with J.Crew Group’s Madewell brand.

The department store chain plans to expand the brand to an additional 20 stores this fall. It’s the third distribution expansion since the initial launch of the partnership in March 2015, and will result in the retailer carrying Madewell goods in a total of 76 locations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as on Nordstrom.com.

Outside of Madewell’s freestanding stores, Nordstrom is the only brick-and-mortar retailer to sell Madewell merchandise.

Nordstrom has been expanding its exclusive deals with designers and brands. It was the launch retail partner of choice for SJP Collection, actress Sarah Jessica Parker's footwear line, the SJP Collection, and also had deals to carry Topshop/Topman merchandise and IVY PARK.

The retailer has also collaborated exclusively with Jason Wu for the launch of Miss Wu, and Tank Magazine fashion director and street style star Caroline Issa for the 'Nordstrom Signature' and Caroline Issa collection.
