BJ’s redesigns app for customer convenience
Easier navigation and shoppable recipes are among the new features of the revamped BJ’s Wholesale Club app.
The East Coast warehouse club retailer is significantly upgrading the user experience for its consumer app. In a new “My BJ’s” area of the app, customers can see warehouse club membership benefits such as yearly savings, savings earned through the BJ’s gas savings program and local BJ’s gas price, and a history of in-store and online orders.
The app will also display available awards for members of the My BJ’s Perks loyalty program, as well as how much more they need to spend to reach their next award. In addition, a new mobile gamification feature called “Challenge” enables app users to earn incentives for performing periodic tasks such as visiting a sample station in a store or trying a new service BJ’s is offering.
Other major updates include a complete redesign intended to ease navigation and shopping, including the addition of shoppable recipes for mobile users of BJ’s same-day grocery delivery program. The redesign also makes in-store services, such as checking in to pick up an online order, more prominent and provides access to a digital version of a customer’s membership card. Existing features like digital coupons will still be available in the app.
“Our members love the BJ’s app, and we’re excited to make it even more convenient to get unbeatable value how and when members want,’ said Rafeh Masood, senior VP and chief digital officer at BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We’re making it easier for members to see the value of their BJ’s membership and bringing more excitement to the wholesale club shopping experience.”
