Amazon reportedly takes the bus in latest delivery idea

Amazon’s latest strategy for delivering goods to consumers reportedly involves public transit.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Amazon has received a patent for a system that would deliver orders to consumers via public buses. Customers would meet a bus at a prearranged stop and retrieve their order from a removable module attached to the bus.

The patent’s wording indicates a consumer would enter an address or area, and the system would automatically present the customer with a list of nearby bus stops. The customer would then select a specific time window, or choose a bus they already ride.
