Amazon Prime Now to make its Canadian debut

9/5/2017

Amazon is getting ready to introduce its same-day delivery service in its 10th country.

Canada will be the newest country to offer Amazon Prime Now’s free two-hour delivery service. The online giant reportedly plans to pilot the program in Vancouver. Based on positive results, Amazon will expand the service to other Canadian cities throughout 2018, according to Nasdaq.

Similar to other cities, Canada’s Prime Now program is expected to feature grocery items, including produce, dairy, frozen food, as well as health and personal care items. The online giant also plans to partner with local bakeries, butcher shops and grocers to bolster the service's local fresh assortments, according to the report.

Since launching in December 2014 in New York, Prime Now has expanded to more than 50 cities in nine countries.
