The 75,500-sq.-ft. Target will reside on New Jersey’s busy Route 202.

Target has signed a lease for a 75,500-sq.-ft. space at Flemington Marketplace in New Jersey, according to Levin Management Corporation (LMC), the center’s leasing and managing agent.

The store will occupy a former Burlington space at Flemington Marketplace, where LMC is set to launch a program of aesthetic enhancements after having secured municipal zoning and land use approvals.

The 239,000-sq.-ft. community center is located on Route 202, just off the Flemington Circle in Flemington.

LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Kelty arranged the lease on behalf of the property ownership, an institutional client of New York Life Real Estate Investors. Jeff Howard of Ripco Real Estate served as the tenant broker.

“This transaction reflects positive movement among major retail brands within the region. It’s a significant accomplishment in our team’s effort to maximize positioning for our clients’ properties,” said Kelty.

Target will join an anchor lineup consisting of Kohl’s, Michaels, and Aldi at Flemington Marketplace. Other tenants at the center include Chili’s, Panera Bread, Hallmark, Verizon Wireless, and Cold Stone Creamery. Poke Café recently signed a lease at the center and will be opening soon.

According to Placer.ai, Flemington Marketplace draws close to 2 million visitors per year.

This is the second lease LMC has signed with Target in New Jersey this year. The first was for a 215,000-sq.-ft. location at West Orange Plaza in West Orange.

“Tenant mix is a big part of ensuring a shopping center’s long-term success, and adding a quality anchor tenant like Target is a real win both for Flemington Marketplace and the entire community,” added Kelty.

LMC’s retail-focused leasing and management portfolio includes 125 properties totaling more than 16 million sq. ft. in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.  It is known for a full-service construction and development services department that designs and completes everything from tenant space buildouts and property renovations to expansions and full redevelopments.
