Streets of St. Charles adds to restaurant lineup

The Cafe Napoli in Clayton, Mo.

In 1989, when Tony and Kathy Pietoso left St. Charles, Mo., to open a white table cloth Italian restaurant called Café Napoli in Clayton, Mo., the top eatery in St. Charles was a place called Noah’s Ark, which looked like the famed boat and was surrounded by fiberglass animals. The Ark is long gone from the site, which Cullinan Properties has since replaced with the Streets of St. Charles project and a roster of dynamic eateries that the Pietosos will now be returning to join.

Napoli III will be occupying a 4,500-sq.-ft. space inside the development’s newest building on the corner of Lombard and Beale streets. This time, the Pietoso’s children Kye and Ande will be in charge.

“Today I am retuning our family legacy to the St. Charles community,” said Kye. “We are excited to make our own contribution to an already flourishing and diverse culinary scene at Streets of St. Charles and we can’t wait to share the new restaurant with everyone.”

Construction on Napoli III begins in August.
