West Elm to open in El Paso

10/13/2014

Brooklyn, N.Y. --Home furnishings retailer West Elm will open a store in El Paso, Texas, on Thursday, Oct. 16th.

Located in The Promenade of The Fountains at Farah, the more than 22,000 square foot store will feature a curated selection of products made in Texas, part of West Elm’s Local initiative.

The initiative, launched this year, taps into local entrepreneurship by empowering the teams in West Elm stores to find makers and designers to build and nurture a creative network that celebrates craftspeople and differentiates the brand with regional assortments.

West Elm El Paso will incorporate both temporary and permanent art installations into the store design that are inspired by the brand’s seasonal product and also by the environment, culture, architecture and heritage of the El Paso area. Customers will find a map of Texas made from reclaimed lathe wood as well as installations using other reclaimed materials including corrugated steel and weathered metal industrial sliding doors.
